Tour Overview
The Pinnawala Elephant Place tour is one of Sri Lanka’s most cherished family and wildlife experiences. Established in 1975, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is home to a large captive herd of orphaned and injured Asian elephants. Watch baby elephants being bottle-fed and see the magnificent spectacle of the entire herd walking down to the Maha Oya River for their daily bath. The tour also includes visits to a working Ceylon tea factory, aromatic spice gardens, and Kandy highlights.

Important Travel Tips & Guidelines
- Temple Dress Code: When visiting sacred temples (such as the Temple of the Tooth or Dambulla Caves), shoulders and knees must be covered. White or light-colored attire is recommended.
- Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes or sandals are recommended. Footwear must be removed before entering Buddhist shrine rooms.
